This means your quarellers will do piddling damage to, say, Chaos Warriors, Chosen, Reiksguard, and other heavy armor units, while Thunderers do their full values. Once the enemy army breaks your guns and Gyrocopters will have trouble completely wiping them out as they flee and most of your infantry is mostly too slow to chase, meaning the enemy stack can retreat and heal up to full. Slayers generally suck against infantry, unless they're getting a rear-charge into an unprotected flank, which is how you should use them if no cavalry or monsters are on the field. Bigger monsters can throw them around and push through, but they can still deal a lot of damage to the monster in the process. 1v1 a unit of Slayers will probably rout a unit of mid-tier cavalry before they die, saving your gunline and artillery. They're unbreakable, it's hard for most cavalry to push through them, and they can cripple that cavalry in terms of their damage. They are one of your only ways to slow down cavalry.
